i prefer to make my own dessert.
this is my design which started out as an american apple pie. the original recipe requires 400 grams of apples but since i had lots of frozen sea-buckthorns left from winter i decided to use them instead. i also added one apple, some blackcurrants, raspberries and redcurrants. but most of the filling was bright orange, soaked in liquor, muscovado sugar, chili powder and cinnamon.
the dough is made of 120 grams of sour cream, powdered vanilla sugar, 75 grams of butter, two eggs and of course flour and baking powder. i let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking, same with the filling. 65 minutes at 175 degrees.
i fucked up the decorating part though.
the cake is super, super sour and you can actually taste the chili and alcohol. serve with ice cream.
