4th fantasy photo workshop

the workshop me and gen hosted in kehtna manor was the 4th one in row, having previously done three in various castles in manors around estonia.

the planning began early. the last workshop in kolga manor took place in september and already by november i felt like something was missing from my life. i talked to the team. they were quite excited to do it again. we also invited taavi luhamaa to speak with us.

this time we had four setups in the otherwise empty mansion - a cloud/snow room, a silver-flowery-bedroom, a library and alice-in-wonderland room. the photographers were divided in five small groups consisting of three people who assisted each other during the shoots.

this time all the wardrobe came from estonian fashion designers - we featured tiina talumees, nymf fashion studio, kirill safonov, perit muuga and hans kristian mänd. and finally, one of the photographers also designs dresses (sigrid osa), she had brought a dress made of newspapers with her.

makeup and hair were done by a team of four (maret ubaleht, raili salvet, kairi katmann and malle jõgeda).

we started the workshop with short presentations about ourselves and how we became artists, then everyone photographed for a few hours, and finally gen talked about business and marketing.

i shot all my photos with the nikon d610 + 24-70mm lens. it was truly a flawless camera - not too heavy, perfect dynamics for a woman's hands, large sensor and unbeatable image quality. the lens was a pleasure to work with as well - super fast, sharp even at f2.8, and goes wonderfully with the d610.

i truly love doing these workshops. it's not only a chance to learn from everyone but also a sudden wave of inspiration that lasts for a few weeks. it's a day for the creative soul, the hardworking team, our brave models, and the amazing participants. everyone brings something to the table. we breathe photography, share our passion, we hold on to each other.

i started teaching in july 2014 and i will hopefully continue for many years to come. the whole experience of speaking and sharing and creating together is something completely different - as i am still trying to change the industry and induce more positive thoughts, networking between creatives and personal success through friendships and love.

every photographer on this planet is important. you are important. we are the flames of the new generation, raw and alive, magnificent to the core. we have the power to change the world. this is our journey, our universe, our fantastic creation.
